The Hot Jobs For Those With Computer Science Degrees

Earning a degree in computer science or one of the many disciplines listed above can help you advance in your current career or help you start a new one. There are many opportunities for employment once you graduate. While some fields as not a plentiful as others, your chances of finding employment are increased if you have a college degree.

A computer science online degree will prepare you for a career in IT, computer forensics, database management, and computer security in the same way as a traditional classroom degree. But instead of having to go to class, rearrange your work schedule, or disturb other areas of your life, you can take classes online, study when you want, and not have to worry about the added costs of parking or leaving work early to attend classes.

When you take online courses, you can expect to learn the following and more:

• Hardware and software design

• Develop programs

• Troubleshooting

• Networks & Security

• Database management

• Web design

• Develop security plans

Because most companies use computers to communicate with employees, customers, vendors and others, more and more companies are creating IT departments that employ those who understand how networks function and how to keep them secure. Computer systems and manufacturing companies are also looking for talented individuals to create new software and hardware for consumers.

While you earn your degree, you will be able to explore different fields to find one that suits your personality and interests.

IT Positions Available

If you enjoy working with computers, learning new programs or testing out the latest computer software products, earning a computer science degree is necessary if you want to find a well paying job in the computer programming or IT field. Popular jobs you can apply for after you graduate include:

• Database administrator

• Software engineer

• Computer engineer

• Interface designer

• Systems analyst

• Computer programmer

• Computer scientist

Each of these careers is rewarding and necessary as more and more companies are in need of those who can use this technology to further their businesses.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition, over half of all computer programmers have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. This means that earning a computer science degree online will increase your chances of finding your dream job.

Promising IT Careers

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition, over the next few years, computer support positions are expected to increase by 13%.

When looking for an online degree program, it’s important to determine which direction you want to move toward in terms of your career. While some areas of computer science, such as computer programming, have seen a slow decline in the number of open positions since 2006, other areas such as computer support and security have seen an increase.

This means that you should choose a program that allows you to easily find employment upon graduation. A computer degree online that focuses on a certain area within computer science is best if you have a particular talent in that area. You can also choose to become a generalist that specializes in a number of areas.

Pheromones And Career Advancement

All experts agree that you must take control of your career to move forward. That means you must look for ways to find challenging work, progress in your field, or increase your visibility.

Most people that are familiar with pheromones think that their sole function is to attract the opposite sex. However based on our experience pheromones also can help improve an individual’s credibility factor. Studies show that attractive and/or confident people are more successful in their careers and make more money. The more credible you are the greater the chance to achieve a sale or a promotion. Sometimes very competent people lose out on opportunities because they may be subconsciously perceived as lacking the ability to give or perform the task.

Pheromones may be an excellent tool for advancing your career. During these trying times we need to avail ourselves of every tool that may help improve success. At some point you may have to convince management that your idea is the best way to go. You may need that extra factor so that you stand out from your peers, have the best chance for advancement, or find yourself fighting to save your job.

I once worked with a woman named Stephanie (not her real name) who was very plain looking. She did not have a college education and her work performance was average. The difference was she gave off an air of confidence that made her seem more credible in management’s eyes. Stephanie worked her way up the ladder, leaving many of us who were more qualified in the dust. I asked her secret and she replied “pheromones!”

The pheromone solution to achieve this same success is to wear a high quality product that contains both male and female pheromones. This has a two-prong approach to increase acceptance by both sexes. The male pheromone will subconsciously suggest to other men that you are a winner and stand out from the crowd. The female pheromone will help boost the male wearer’s psyche and help make him more confident. The theory is the old adage, “behind every successful man is a woman and vice versa, behind every successful woman is a man.” Female wearers will of course have a similar reaction.

Interviewing for a new job can be frustrating because you need to find a way to set yourself above other candidates competing for the same job. Interviewers make subjective hiring decisions rather than objective ones because they see so many candidates with similar qualifications. Pheromones may subconsciously encourage the interviewer to hire you only because it is the one extra factor that makes you stand out!

Alison interviewed for a position within her company. Just before her appointment, she applied pheromones. However, once the interview process began, she realized that she was not qualified for the job, but she was awarded the position anyway. From there she received two more promotions within a year.

Rob worked for a company that was downsizing and he feared he would be one of the ones that would get laid off. He wore pheromones at work and watched people with more seniority get laid off while he kept his job.

Attending job fairs is a great way to connect with potential employers, but they attract hundreds of people who are competing for the same jobs. Eric was desperate for a job. He heard about pheromones helping in such situations. He left his name with different people and each time he turned in his registration form he put some pheromones on the form. In the end he got to choose the job he wanted.

Renee saw money wasted all around her where she worked and was determined to show the company executives how to save the company money. After it was obvious that no one was taking her seriously, she decided to apply pheromones to her reports. The execs that previously disregarded her recommendations, started to take more time reading her reports. From that point on they sought out Renee for her opinions.

I once worked for a company that was quick to fire their sales representatives if their sales performance was not to their liking. The company president called me in to find out why my sales were not progressing. At the time, they did not know that I was starting a new business and was just maintaining my sales accounts. I knew my job was in jeopardy. Before walking into his office, I applied my pheromone mix. This mix was a product that included both female and male pheromones and a special fragrance containing 18 scents. To my astonishment I did not lose my job and I walked out of the office with everyone satisfied about my performance.

For best results I always recommend that people follow the manufacturer’s pheromone usage instructions. Applying more is not better and in fact will give you the poorest results! The pheromone quality should be high enough to achieve what you want without being consciously detected. A money back guarantee suggests that the product is high quality and that the manufacturer stands behind the product.

Pheromones are safe, easy to use, and can give you the confidence you need to change or enhance your career. It’s the secret weapon in your pocket ready for those times when you need it the most.

The 3 Important Things You Must Know Or Do Before Becoming A Public Safety Officer

There are several things that you must know or do before becoming a public safety officer in your community. Public safety officers can be any individual that works for an agency that is public in nature. Individuals that work as firefighters, in law enforcement, corrections, and even emergency response and preparedness teams are all considered to be public safety officers. Here, I will introduce you to the 3 important things you must know or do before becoming an officer that serves the safety of the public.

1. Education:

The first important thing that you should learn about is the education that is required to become certified to work in public safety. The education that you will need to acquire will be dependent upon the field that you select to work in, as well as the agency that you will work for.

You will need to determine the coursework that you need to complete in any special academy and/or educational institution. You should also take into consideration the cost of the schooling and if the agency covers any part of the tuition. Keep in mind that there may be special grants and/or loans that you may qualify for in order to help pay for the overall cost of the education that is required.

2. Physical Requirements:

The second important thing that you will need to know prior to becoming a public safety officer is the physical requirements. Many of the positions in these fields require a high level of health, as well as high levels of physical endurance. For example, as a law enforcement officer, you are typically required to:

a. Be able to run a mile in nine minutes or less

b. Push a full size vehicle approximately ten to fifteen feet

c. Drag a one hundred and fifty pound sandbag and/or dummy approximately ten to fifteen feet

d. Go over a wall that is six feet in height

e. Run across a balance beam without falling

f. Withstand a test where you are pepper sprayed in the face

g. Undergo a test where you are tasered

h. Complete a certain amount of pushups, sit-ups, and other physical exercises in a set amount of time

You must know what is expected, be healthy, and ready to face the requirements that are designated for your particular field.

3. Psychological Aspects:

If you are going into public safety service, you should take special care to consider the psychological aspects of the position in which you are selecting. You may be exposed to extremely high levels of stress, physical violence, witnessing crimes taking place, verbal and emotional abuse, and even come face to face with death – natural, suicidal, and homicidal.

It is important that you know and understand these situations may occur right from the start – and at any time while you are in service. If you feel as if you cannot handle this type of psychological pressure, it may be best if you opt to do something other than public safety.

If you consider the above 3 important things that you should know or do before becoming a public safety officer, you will quickly be able to determine if this type of profession is for you. If it is, I encourage you to do more reading on the career. You can do this by visiting websites that cover the career in more detail.

Overseas Security Jobs: Not a Job But an Adventure

Here’s a great adventure that pays heftily as well. Overseas security jobs are now in demand in most developed countries in the world and interested parties with the right qualifications should grab the opportunity and apply now.

What are Overseas Security Jobs?

Keeping a place secure and safe — this is basically what a security job is. Security personnel make sure that everything’s okay with the place, its facilities and properties, and most especially the people there, as far as security and safety is concerned. Security employees are security chiefs, officers, managers, supervisors, guards, house detectives, personal body guards, and monitoring technicians, among others. These security jobs are “overseas” because the employers need migrant workers. People applying for overseas security jobs should have the necessary knowledge and experience.

Why “Overseas”?

Many private companies today look for workers not only within the country of their operation but in others as well. This enables them to get some of the best possible skills and talents from more parts of the globe. Moreover, they often manage to cut on labor costs when they hire migrants from developing countries and yet still offer pay attractive to such applicants. Thus, overseas security jobs are often lucrative ones that pay more compared to local security jobs found in the home countries of migrant applicants. Pay may range from 55 to 200 thousand dollars a year, often tax free.

Requirements for Overseas Security Jobs

Besides passports, visas, and other important traveling documents, overseas security jobs require proper training. Applicants need not be former military or policemen or former expert combat operatives. There are short courses on security provided through vocational schools or online. Visit schools or online sites offering the appropriate courses. Be sure to have the right security course pertinent to the security job applied for. Some overseas security jobs are often for banks, payday loan outlet, museums, big corporations, credit and financial institutions, and the like. Specific security job descriptions may involve guarding, monitoring, surveillance, crowd control, technical support, personal security, and escort services, like traveling with a bank armored vehicle.

Does the Work Entail Handling Guns?

Not always. There are security jobs that focus on mere checking on people who enter or exit facilities or buildings. House detectives often just roam around buildings, wearing formal clothes, unarmed, and checking every floor, reporting back to base through radio.

Where to Apply?

It’s best to apply online. There are now a lot of websites on overseas security jobs and applicants simply need to search. Post resumes and qualification credentials on the site and fill up online application forms. Or, visit government overseas employment agencies and inquire about overseas security jobs. Also have the government agency check the legitimacy of companies or placement agencies that offer the job.

Inquire from Friends

Some people know about migrant workers who are into overseas security jobs. It’s worth trying to ask around to get some leads. But make sure that whatever information obtained from such inquiries should be confirmed from a government overseas employment office or agency before making any final move or decision.

The 3 Things You Should Do or Know Before Becoming a Border Patrol Agent

Many people are looking for ways that they may serve our country. Especially after the events of 9 / 11, the security of this nation is at the front of everyone’s mind. If you are so inclined, you may be thinking about a job with the United States Border Patrol.

It is a calling more than a job where your duties will include protecting the country from illegal drugs and aliens. However, before you run out and get an application, there are a few things you might want to know.

1. Border Patrol Agent Qualifications:

You may be tempted to rush out and put in your application for border patrol with the Department of Homeland Security, but before you do, let us look at some basic requirements for the job.

1) You must be a US citizen

2) You must have a valid driver’s license

3) You must take a 3 Hour entrance exam that will evaluate you in three parts. The first part will evaluate your logical thinking skills. A Spanish language test; in the absence of your ability to speak Spanish, you will be given an artificial language test to assess your ability to learn a new language. Thirdly, you will be evaluated on prior work history and performance.

4) You must have either relevant work experience or a 4-year college degree or a combination of both.

Once you have passed all the various requirements for the application and taken the exam, there is still the matter of passing a physical fitness exam. You will also go through an intensive background, psychiatric exams, vision testing and much more. This is not an average job you are applying for.

2. Border Patrol Agent Experience:

Surprisingly your experience does not have to be in a law enforcement related field (though it may help). Rather you must have experience dealing with high stress situations, the ability to keep your composure under said stress. You must have exhibited the ability to take charge and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with co-workers as well as the public. Finally, your past work history must show that you have the ability to learn both on the job and off.

3. Border Patrol Agent Danger:

As previously stated, this is not your average nine to five job. There is real danger involved as you are dealing with some very dangerous and sometimes desperate people. The illegal drug trade that comes across our borders is not committed by boy scouts. These are dangerous people and agents have been killed while trying to stop them.

Conclusion:

This is a great profession in many ways, but really, it is more than a job. It is a calling that requires strict dedication and above average skills and character. If you meet the requirements above to be a border patrol agent, it just might be the job for you. You need to do a little more research on the web about the career. You should do this by visiting websites that dig a little deeper into the profession.

Private Pilot License, Post Solo Flight Training Requirements

After you solo or have completed the solo requirements, your instructor should move you ahead to the next phase of training even if you are not quite ready to solo. Like I have said before many flight schools and instructors will not move you forward until you have solo’ed.

I personally move everyone forwards since the goal is to get you licensed on a budget without loosing quality of flight training.

Here are the Post Solo Requirements for your Private Pilot License Training. Once again they start off general and get more specific.

(a) General. (1) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section, a student pilot must meet the requirements of this section before—

(i) Conducting a solo cross-country flight, or any flight greater than 25 nautical miles from the airport from where the flight originated.

(ii) Making a solo flight and landing at any location other than the airport of origination.

(2) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section, a student pilot who seeks solo cross-country flight privileges must:

(i) Have received flight training from an instructor authorized to provide flight training on the maneuvers and procedures of this section that are appropriate to the make and model of aircraft for which solo cross-country privileges are sought;

(ii) Have demonstrated cross-country proficiency on the appropriate maneuvers and procedures of this section to an authorized instructor;

(iii) Have satisfactorily accomplished the pre-solo flight maneuvers and procedures required by

Private Pilot License Requirements

The private pilot license requirements are broken down into a few different sections. In most cases you will see something like this:

40 Hours Total

20 Hours Dual Instruction

10 Hours Solo

Now in other places you may see some added information

3 Hours Instrument

3 Hours Night

5 Hours Solo Cross Country

Now this is correct and the FAA regulations for the private pilot license do state this. The things that are missed are all of the area’s of operation within these requirements. Many times the student doesn’t realize what is exactly required, this can add up to more flights if something is missed by the flight instructor. The worst case scenario is this is picked up by the pilot examiner on flight test day.

If you have read over my Private Pilot License Cost articles you can see that I break the cost down the same way. This is because you have to realize that there are a lot of subject areas that need to be DOCUMENTED. If they are not documented in your logbook you are not qualified for your flight test.

I can’t tell you how many stories I have heard from examiner friends of mine about this. It happens all the time on flight test day. In many cases the flight instructor is nowhere to be found and the student has to reschedule the flight test. This happens so often that I made some special sections in my book called ( Keeping Your Instructor In Check )

So I will point them out to you so you can double check your instructor. Once in a while a student of mine will remind me of something, even after 20 years of doing this Better a week before the flight test than on you Private Pilot Flight Test Day.

The above requirements for the Private Pilot License are the Minimum Requirements. Within these requirements are a lot of subject areas and individual training requirements.

In addition to the Aeronautical Experience Requirements ( Flight Time) There are Aeronautical Knowledge Requirements. Most people just look at this is the FAA written Test. You have to realize that once again your instructor has to DOCUMENT each of the subject areas. The FAA is starting to get very tough on this. If these subject areas aren’t documented on flight test day, the examiner walks out. Hopefully your instructor is somewhere to be found but if he/ she isn’t, then you will have to reschedule your flight test.

I will outline all of these Private Pilot License Requirements for you and try to make it as simple as possible. So like my cost estimates I will break everything down into the following:

Private Pilot License, Pre-Solo Training Requirements

Private Pilot License, Post-Solo Training Requirements

Private Pilot License Requirements

I have written different articles for each area.

The reason I do this is so you can get an idea of what you are required to do at each stage of your training and then what is required for you to take your flight test. There are a lot of things to learn so my advice is to plan this process out before you spend a dime flying.

Hope to See You In The Sky
