Enjoy the Sights of Spain by Car

Having a vehicle is one of the greatest freedoms known to man. It seems that there is virtually no place that you cannot go. Travel to Spain by car can be a rewarding and memorable occasion. When you plan to go away from home there are many important things that need to be kept in mind. Spain is a beautiful place to visit, especially as a tourist. However, being a tourist in any place comes with a lot of responsibilities.

Plan your time carefully. It’s best to sit down and jot some notes and actively plan out what you will be doing throughout your whole trip. Spain is a very large place when going by car and it can be tough to see it all if you only have a few days to spare. Do necessary research to try and estimate how much time you will really need to squeeze in as much as you want to do.

Renting a car might be preferable as opposed to bringing your own. If you live far from Spain then it may be too expensive to bring your vehicle or simply too hard on the vehicle itself. Car rentals are easy to obtain all around the world. Most well known rental companies operate globally. You can secure your rental through your local outlet and pick it up when you arrive in Spain.

Though many travellers opt for a car rental, it is possible to bring your own car to Spain. If you do decide to drive to Spain, you must be sure that all legal information on your car is up to date. You will also need the proper documents to prove this. Never travel without your driver’s license either. It can get you in to some deep trouble.

Some of the traffic laws in Spain vary from the U.S. and Canada. For example, when you go to pass another vehicle in Spain you must honk your horn to let them know. It’s not like that everywhere and it is those little things that you need to know if you want to drive accordingly.

Driving can eat up a lot of time. Being stuck in a car for days on end is no fun for anyone so make sure to schedule stops appropriately. You want to be sure to see the sights and what makes Spain such a popular destination. Too much time spent driving can rob you of that experience, which is what you are after.

There are many wonderful things to see and do when travelling through Spain. La Catedral is one of the largest cathedrals in the entire world. It has been standing since the year 1507 which makes it a phenomenal place to visit. Make sure to have your camera handy with some extra batteries. You will want pictures of something so historically valuable.

Spain has a variety of great walking trails throughout the lovely land. When you need to get out of the car and stretch your legs, pull over and take a nice walk. Touring Spain by car is an amazing experience you will treasure.

Which Montana Museum Should You Visit?

For people who enjoy history, art and learning about how things were prior to now, you probably also love going to museums. Montana boasts an impressive number of museums and art galleries, 274 to be exact!

With so many museums spread out over the state, I can easily see why it would be so hard to figure out which ones to go to and which ones are worth the time. As we know some museums, if not put together well, can turn out to be pretty boring and uneventful. Here are some of the Montana museums that are not a waste of time.

The CM Russell Museum: Established in 1953, the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana owns the most complete collection of Charles Russell art and personal objects in the world. C.M Russell was an artist of the American West who created paintings of cowboys, Indians and landscapes set in the Western United States. He also created bronze sculptures. The permanent collection at The C.M. Russell Museum is comprised of over 12,000 paintings and objects.

The Moss Mansion: Located in Billings, this historic house museum captures early turn-of-the-century life of the Preston Boyd Moss family. The mansion is a red sandstone structure built in 1903 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors will see original draperies, fixtures, furniture, Persian carpets and artifacts during their guided tour. The Moss Mansion was designed by Henry Jane Hardenbergh who also designed the original Waldorf-Astoria.

The Yellowstone Art Museum: Also located in Billings, the Yellowstone Art Museum is an important visual arts center for the surrounding region. Founded in 1964, it is now a fully accredited Museum. There are over 3,000 painting and objects which have exceeded all expectations of growth and popularity of the museum.

The Western Heritage Center: This historic building is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in Billings as well, it was originally the Parmly Billings Library, built in 1901 by Billings founder as a memorial to his son, Parmly. Within the beautiful main floor old oak galleries are changing exhibits where the stories of peoples of the Yellowstone River Valley unfold.

Museum of the Rockies: One of the most popular museums can be found in Bozeman, Montana. The Museum of the Rockies focuses mainly on dinosaurs and Paleontology, but also houses an amazing Planetarium for a new perspective on Montana’s Big Sky. There is also a great exhibit on Lewis & Clark, often thought of as America’s greatest adventure story. Another great feature is the living farm which allows kids to see and also experience what life was like over a century ago on a Montana homestead.

Of course there are many amazing Montana museums that I could cover, but it would be hard to cover the many aspects of each museum in just one article. The few that I have listed are some of the more exciting and equally entertaining museums for both adults and children, which as we all know, is a very important quality!

You can Visit Travel To Montana to find more extensive articles on museums, fishing, skiing and other activities and events that make Montana the beautiful place it is. Read our article about the Museum of the Rockies for more information if you are planning on a visit!

Tips For Safely Towing a Camper

Half of the fun that comes with going on any trip away from home comes from packing. Gathering everything you need for that much anticipated holiday helps to get you excited to get on the road. But there are also some serious issues that must be looked over before you consider yourself ready to head out. If you plan to be towing a camper or RV unit behind your vehicle, safety must be your first priority. This is one of the most important facets of your trip.

When it comes to putting the camper on to your vehicle hitch, have someone help you. It’s easier if you back up your vehicle to the camper while having someone direct you. Make sure your distance is accurate for putting the unit on the hitch correctly. It’s also not a good idea to try to lift it yourself if the unit is incredibly heavy. Throwing your back out will only hinder your trip rather than help to speed it along.

Make sure that everything is secure. Having a hitch come loose on the highway can result in a traffic accident more horrific than you even want to imagine. Do not take unnecessary risks with things like this. Check and then double check that the hitch is on as securely as possible.

All of the wires that link to your signal and tail lights must be working. You need to check every single one of them before you leave your house. Not only is it a traffic violation if they are not working, you can cause an accident if other drivers around you do not know what you are doing. This can easily be avoided by ensuring that all wires are properly functioning ahead of time. That way if there is an issue, you have time to address it.

The camper or RV that you are intending to pull must be a match for your vehicle. Not just any vehicle can pull one of those things. Find out if yours can because if it cannot, you run a serious risk by trying. Most trucks and larger SUVs are fine for pulling campers. Some people attempt to use smaller cars though. Before you do, ask your car dealer if it safe.

You should also make certain that the hitch you install on your vehicle is made to fit that vehicle type. It’s not enough to have any hitch. It must be very specific. If you do not know how to properly install a hitch, have it done professionally. The cost will save you both time and worry. Knowing it is done right is priceless.

Do not leave loose items sitting out inside the camper. They will fly around inside as you drive and you will open the door to find things destroyed. Have everything packed and secure until you arrive at your destination. Putting new tires on your vehicle can also help the ride go much smoother. Old or worn tires will not be able to handle the load and you may end up with tire problems. Conform to safety when you tow your camper and you will have no worries.

Rooms are available at under $200 a night.

This hotel is only a little over a year old, open since July 2007, and has been decorated true to Montana. Themed throughout with horses and cowboys, it is set up in such a way that it is not overbearing, which makes it very appealing. The rooms are large and comfortable with goose down comforters. Every review I read was rated with a 5 being the best accept one. That review said that the air conditioning was so noisy they couldn’t sleep at all. I’m not sure if there was something wrong with it when they visited but I haven’t seen any more reviews like that so overall it seems like a wonderful place to stay! Rooms average at about $146 a night.

Rated # 2: Hilton Garden Inn (2465 Grant Road, Billings, MT 59102)

Something a lot of people seemed to like about this hotel is the restaurant and bar located within it. They feature happy hour from 6:00 to 8pm and surprisingly it is not over crowded! A lot of people said that finding the hotel was awkward since it is not on a main road and located back aways. High ratings were in almost everything, service cleanliness, value, the only low rating was in location as it was hard to find. Caribbean Cruises Are for the Whole Family

You want to go where the weather is warm, where sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters beckon, and where tropical breezes don’t leave you chilled. The Caribbean is calling to you, my friend, and you need to answer. But wait, you say—I have a family that I need to take, as well. No problem. A Caribbean cruise is the answer you’re looking for.

Gone are the hassles of packing and unpacking every couple of days as you move from hotel to hotel, trying to make the most of your week or two together as a family. No need to hunt down new restaurants to eat at two or three times a day, either. With a cruise, your hotel room stays with you, no matter which port-of-call you’re visiting. Dining on the ship offers enough variety that no one in the family will be bored.

Caribbean family cruises are a wonderful choice, no matter if you simply need time away from home, are planning a family reunion, or bringing multiple generations together. With the many cruises lines and packages available today, all you’ll need is a little time online to research and plan what may be the best vacation you’ve ever had (until your next cruise!).

Family cruising is still a relatively new market for cruise lines. The focus used to be on adults-only, allowing a flirtatious and party atmosphere for singles and couples wishing to let loose, or calm, sophisticated itineraries for those desiring a more quiet type of relaxation.

Tapping into the family cruise market has shown to be highly popular and more and more cruises are focusing on attracting families. Disney and Nickelodeon-themed cruises are very popular with the under-high-school set, and some cruises are now dedicating themselves to offering different activities to appeal to young children, teens, young adults, middle-aged, and seniors—all on the same cruise, so multiple generations of a family can cruise together and each have a great time!

When planning your Caribbean family cruise, you’ll want to do some research ahead of time to figure out which cruise line will suit your family’s needs the best. Find out what age ranges each line includes. If you need babysitting services, find out if they are offered and what the training is for the babysitters.

Some ships offer group activities for children with trained child care staff. You will want to find out if these activities are to include parent participation or if the staff will be able to supervise while adults participate in activities with their own peers.

When the cruise goes to different ports-of-call, will there be activities on-board to satisfy the kids or will the kids need to depart with their parents? Also check into the availability of children’s menus, cots, cribs, and any other provisions and amenities you need for the children you’re traveling with.

Some cruise ships even offer children’s-only pools, pizza parties, movies, and live entertainment. Teens may be able to enjoy on-board, supervised game arcades and movies that appeal to their more mature tastes.

Family cruising has increased in popularity over the last decade and will continue to do so. Check into this option for your next vacation—the Caribbean awaits!

Cruise1st offers cruises to various destinations across the globe, for those who are unable to make decision for cruise or land. Caribbean Cruise and Stay offers you the best of both worlds and also the thrills of Caribbean cruise.

Christmas Vacation - Island Style

Every year, millions of people decide to spend Christmas and New Years in another state, country, or continent. For those wishing to escape to the sunny south, but still be relatively close to home, spending the holidays in the Bahamas is a great alternative. Out of the seven hundred islands that make up the Bahamas, Elbow Cay, a small island in the Abacos, is a wonderful place to celebrate the season with friends and family.

Christmas and New Years are one of a kind on Elbow Cay. The first thing everyone notices during the holidays is the Hope Town Lighthouse, located in the North-central part of the island. The lighthouse has thousands of lights strung from its observation deck to its base. Every night, the lighthouse is lit up, while its lights sparkle in the night. Many houses and restaurants also prepare for the holidays with lights and decorations - even though it looks a bit strange without any winter white snow.

The holiday season also brings many events such as the annual Christmas musical at the local church. The local children rehearse for months on the play, as well as the many songs they must learn. Tickets are free, although they are limited, and donations are encouraged. Donations are then given to an orphanage in Nassau. There is also a golf cart parade that tours the town. Since most people on the island drive golf carts instead of cars, they decorate them with ribbons, lights, shells, and anything else they can think of. Similar to the golf cart parade, a parade of boats cruise the waters around the islands, and show off their lights and decorations for everyone to see.

New years, however, is another story. All the islands in Abaco have their own version of a fireworks display, but Elbow Cay has two! A few nights before New Years Eve, a local company puts on a spectacular fireworks display on the water, nestled between two islands. The best place to view the show is on the most Southern beach on the island. At low tide you can even sit on the islands of sand that form in the shallow waters. On New Years Eve, all the local bars are open, and have special dinners and events. This is the only night of the year that a cover charge is in effect. This is the place to be until midnight, because once the clock strikes twelve, everyone floods the street to watch the second fireworks display. The fireworks can be seen from anywhere in town, although a favorite place to view them is from the deck of any boat in the Harbour. Once the display is complete, Junkanoo begins. Junkanoo, similar to Carnival, is a cultural event in the Bahamas that consist of many native costumed dancers parading down the street while dancing to the drums and whistles of the band. Everyone joins in and dances through the streets while following the parade through town.

After years of traditional holidays at home, spending Christmas in the Bahamas is something that everyone should experience. Celebrating the season on the islands of the Caribbean is priceless.
